Rahmqvist environmental philosophy

miljofilosofi

Our philosophy is grounded on ancient Indian words of wisdom - we think if it as common sense:
"We, man and our relatives: animals, plants, earth mountains, water, air - all belong here and all have a right to the resources we share, both those of us here today and those to come.- We exist here and now and decide upon the future - the harm we do today must be paid for sooner or later."

Mother earth

You have to teach your children
that the earth on which they stand
is the ash of our predecessors.

So that they respect the land,
say to your children
that the earth is rich in life like us.
Teach your children as we taught our children
that the Earth is our mother.

That which happens to the Earth is caused by the Earth's sons.
If you spit on the ground,
you are spitting on yourself.

This we know.
The Earth does not belong to man;
man belongs to the Earth. This we know.
We belong together
like the ties of kinship in a family.
All is as one.

That which happens to the Earth, happens to her sons.
Man does not weave life's net,
man is only a strand in it.
What man causes the net, man causes himself.
